Welcome to the Franchise Employer Report!

Looking for quality employees? Who isn’t? After more than 2 years of accelerated changes and adaptations brought on by Covid, today’s labor market has altered drastically, with employers of all stripes facing unfamiliar conditions and seeking innovative solutions.

One of those changes, of course, is today’s labor shortage and related employment and staffing challenges. Compounded by the growing number of people shifting careers, working from home, demanding more pay and benefits, unionizing, and even demanding an ownership stake, franchisees and franchisors are scrambling to adjust to this new reality. Employers at every level and in every industry are coping in every way they can, willing to try something – anything! – that will help them attract, train, and retain quality employees.

That’s why we’re introducing this monthly newsletter – the Franchise Employer Report, or FER – to report on what’s working and what isn’t, mining the field for the best advice and real-life stories from the front lines. Everyone needs employees, the best they can find, at a cost they can afford in a highly competitive market.
