Pollo Campero Owners Host Reception for the Ayudame a Vivir Foundation in the U.S.

Continues Support of Pediatric Cancer Research Initiatives and Treatment by Promoting Fundraising Efforts

MIAMI, Dec. 17 // PRNewswire // -- Campero USA Corp., the U.S. affiliate of Pollo Campero, the leading chain of chicken quick service restaurants from Latin America, held a reception in South Florida on December 10 to benefit the Ayudame a Vivir Foundation ("Help Me Live Foundation"). Patty Gutierrez, director of philanthropy and public relations at Campero USA, organized this inaugural event, which was held at the Grand Bay Club in Key Biscayne. The invite-only event was held to promote the launch of the Ayudame a Vivir Foundation in the United States, helping to raise much needed money for pediatric cancer research and treatment.

"The fundraiser for the Ayudame a Vivir Foundation was a great success, far exceeding our expectations," said Ms. Gutierrez. "With the generosity of our attendees and other corporate sponsors, we helped raise more than $30,000 for this wonderful cause."

The foundation intends to make a difference for children in need of cancer treatment in the U.S. by bringing much needed assistance and hope to children and families who are unable to pay for treatment. Through its efforts in Guatemala, Ayudame a Vivir has played a role in helping professionals increase child cancer survival rates in Guatemala from 10 percent to 70 percent and has helped treat more than 2,000 children.

Added Ms. Gutierrez, "Campero USA has always taken a firm commitment to assisting pediatric cancer causes wherever possible, and we are honored to have had the opportunity to continue supporting this cause, which is very near and dear to us. We have seen firsthand the incredibly positive impact that Fundacion Ayudame A Vivir has had on fighting pediatric cancer in Guatemala, and after last night's event, truly believe that its sister organization will have a similar impact here in the United States."

"This reception helped raise awareness about pediatric cancer issues, and has successfully introduced Ayudame a Vivir to philanthropists in the U.S. We are proud to have had the financial support and assistance of long-standing contributors Juan Jose Gutierrez, president of Pollo Campero, and Juan Luis Bosch and Dionisio Gutierrez, co-presidents of Corporacion Multi Inversiones," said Maria Eugenia de Mata, president of Ayudame a Vivir Foundation. "These corporations and their leaders have been instrumental in the success of our sister organization in Guatemala, and are now playing an important role in our expansion into the United States. We are extremely thankful for their relentless support."

About Ayudame a Vivir Foundation

The Ayudame a Vivir Foundation, which translates to "Help Me Live," is a sister organization to Guatemala's Fundacion Ayudame A Vivir, a non-profit organization that raises money to fund cancer treatment for underprivileged children. Due to the positive impact that Fundacion Ayudame A Vivir has had on pediatric cancer treatment in Guatemala in such a short period of time, and the success the organization has had in raising funds, a sister organization, The Ayudame a Vivir Foundation, was created in the United States in 2007 to further expand the mission of helping raise funds for children with cancer and for facilities that help research and treat pediatric cancer. Ayudame a Vivir was approved in 2008 by the IRS to operate as a charitable organization to which tax deductible donations may be made. With its U.S. operations, the Ayudame a Vivir Foundation intends to support facilities and patients in the treatment of pediatric cancer and further cancer research not only in the United States, but in other parts of the world as well.
