Sport Clips Ranks Among VetFran Top Ten

IFA reports increasing number of veterans venturing into franchising

GEORGETOWN, Texas, Oct. 6 // PRNewswire // -- Sport Clips, the nation's largest men's and boy's hair-care provider, ranked eighth among the International Franchise Association's (IFA) Top Ten sellers of franchises to veterans. The report comes from a recent survey of VetFran membership, which is made up of 400 IFA participating companies offering various financial incentives for honorably discharged US veterans. Sport Clips is singled out as the sole hair-care franchise to make the top ten with its 33 veteran-owned franchises.

"As a veteran, I am proud Sport Clips is an attractive franchise ownership opportunity to veterans and honors them by participating in the IFA's VetFran program," says Sport Clips Founder and CEO Gordon Logan. "We want to maintain a focus on helping our vets get into business when they transition from the military."

The recent report from the IFA shows increasing numbers of veterans looking to franchises as a way to pursue their entrepreneurial interests, and data from the past six months show 129 new veteran-franchisees have become business owners through various financial incentives offered by IFA member companies. This brings the total to 1,499 former military personnel who acquired franchises through the VetFran program.

Sport Clips was established in 1995 by Logan. The franchise is a sponsor of NASCAR's Joe Logano and a partner with several teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA), Major League Baseball (MLB), and National Hockey League (NHL). Sport Clips is the "Official Haircutter" of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; has been ranked an AllBusiness.com "Top 10 Franchise for Veterans"; is the largest contributor to the VFW's Operation Uplink free call days; and offers preferential pricing throughout the year to veterans.
