Sport Clips Shares News of Expansion at Its Largest National Meeting

Nation's Largest Hair Care Provider for Men and Boys Shares U.S. Growth, Showcases Standouts, and Announces Las Vegas as a Company-owned Market

LAS VEGAS // PRNewswire // -- Sport Clips wrapped up its largest "National Huddle" with over 1,200 in attendance at the franchise's annual convention. During the meeting, Founder and CEO Gordon Logan shared plans for the guy-focused hair care provider's continued U.S. expansion into the Northeastern U.S. and reviewed the previous year's successes including same store sales growth of over 5 percent for each of the past two years. Sport Clips now has 689 stores in 37 states across the country, and opened almost 50 percent of all franchised hair salons in the country last year. It was announced that the franchise's Las Vegas market, which has six stores, will become company-owned and join Austin, Texas, as a second test market for new ideas and programs.

Outstanding individuals and performance were recognized during the "Huddle Awards" dinner at which former NFL star and Sport Clips Board Member Jay Novacek spoke. Awards went to Ron Chamberlain of Carlsbad, California as top Area Developer; Steve Nosser of Nashville, Tennessee as top franchisee (Team Leader) and Chad Tabor and Rahul Yaratha of Midland, Texas as top Rookie franchisees. Franchisee JJ O'Connor, of Mount Prospect, Illinois was recognized with Sport Clips' "Heart of a Champion Award." He is general manager of the U.S. Paralympics Sled Hockey Team that recently won gold in the 2010 Paralympic Games in Vancouver. After a paralyzing hockey accident in high school, O'Connor has used the game to improve the lives of others. He has chaired USA Hockey's disabled section since 2002, overseeing hockey geared for players who are hearing-impaired, amputees and those cognitively or physically disabled.

"The Look" Stylist's competition also took place at the annual meeting. Guest speakers at the Huddle included John Paul DeJoria, of John Paul Mitchell Systems; Bob Prosen, of the Prosen Center for Business Advancement and author of Kiss Theory Goodbye; and NASCAR driver Joey Logano, of Joe Gibbs Racing.
