Top Master Franchise Owners from Around the World Come Together to Celebrate the Growth of The Gold's Gym Brand and Plan for The Future

December 20, 2010 // Franchising.com // DALLAS - Gold's Gym International recently held its fifth annual Master Franchise Summit at the Omni Hotel in Los Angeles. Eleven top Gold's Gym master franchise owners from around the world joined Gold's Gym International executives and International Franchise Council (IFC) members in a four-day open forum session to share best business practices and strategic 2011 international goal planning.

"The past 12 months have marked significant growth for the Gold's Gym brand internationally, helping us to build strong momentum as we head into 2011," said Joel Tallman, senior vice president of franchising & global operations for Gold's Gym. "The Master Franchise Summit provided a great platform to share the brand's successes while learning, educating and supporting one another. It truly was a remarkable experience for everyone involved."

During the Master Franchise Summit, Gold's Gym International also clearly defined the overall Master Franchise Support and Training plan for 2011. This initiative will be spearheaded by Tamer El-Guindy, who was hired in 2010 as Gold's Gym international franchise manager. El-Guindy will also host Gold's Gym Universities all around the world to provide every master franchise owner hands-on training and support in 2011 and beyond.

"Gold's Gym International has devoted a great deal of time and effort to building the brand overseas and working with master franchise owners to achieve great success," said Jake Weinstock, IFC member and Gold's Gym master franchisee for Russia, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Spain and Portugal. "The Master Franchise Summit allowed us to share those successes and our vision for the future. It was an invigorating experience that led to many valuable conversations for the betterment of the brand as a whole."

Countries represented at the Master Franchise Summit included Russia, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, Canada, Venezuela, Peru, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Poland. Currently, Gold's Gym has nearly 100 clubs in the international development pipeline set to open during the next 24 months.
