Sport Clips Celebrates Opening of 800th Store With Baseball Camp and Ribbon Cutting

One of nation's fastest growing franchises gives to Seattle-area community and Mariners Care to recognize landmark event

REDMOND, Wash., Sept. 27, 2011 // PRNewswire // -- Sport Clips Haircuts, the nation's largest men's and boys' hair care provider, celebrated the opening of its 800th store by giving back to the greater Seattle area through hosting a free youth baseball camp and giving a donation to the Mariners Care organization. The baseball camp offered training and fun competition by Sammamish Baseball Academy for youngsters 13 and under, and camp participants received four free Mariners game tickets to the September 27 Mariners game against the Oakland A's.

In honor of each camper and in recognition of its landmark store opening, Sport Clips made a donation to the Mariners Care organization at Tuesday's game. Announcement of the donation amount of $8,000 was made at a "towel cutting" ceremony, symbolizing Sport Clips' signature MVP Experience that includes a steamed towel treatment, massaging shampoo, and precision haircut, at the franchise's 800th store, located at 17158 Redmond Way in Redmond. Sport Clips CEO and Founder Gordon Logan discussed the franchise's continued growth across the country, as well as expansion and jobs planned for the greater Seattle area and the northwest United States. Also, on hand for the event were northwest Area Developers for Sport Clips, Phil and Laurie Brown and local Sport Clips owner, Rob Crandall. They were joined by Redmond City Council President Richard Cole and members of the Redmond Chamber of Commerce.

"Sport Clips is fortunate to have experienced such remarkable growth over the past few years, and as part of that growth, we've made a commitment to be active in the communities we serve...whether it's sponsoring local events such as the youth baseball camp we offered here or partnering with teams and charities such as Mariners Care. It's a great way to welcome the 800th store to our franchise system," says Logan. "We presently have 23 stores open in Washington and Oregon, with plans to increase that to 35 stores by the end of next year. Ultimately, Sport Clips plans to open 70 stores in Washington and Oregon over the next few years, working with our local small business franchisees, supporting 1,000 jobs in the area.

"We become part of the fabric of the area by offering services and jobs, as well as business and charitable partnerships – it's a win-win for Sport Clips and the community."
