High Five Tour 2013 Rallies Communities Across America to Thank Military Families

Tour to Stop at Local Sport Clips Haircuts While Raising Funds for Wounded Veterans' "Smart Homes"

June 18, 2013 // Franchising.com // OMAHA, Neb. – The Wounded Warriors Family Support Mustang will hit the road this summer for the High Five Tour 2013.

The High Five Tour rallies communities across the U.S. to say “thank you” and show their appreciation to our country’s military families for their sacrifices. Wounded Warriors Family Support invites Americans of all walks of life to show their support for military families by visiting a stop on the tour and signing the car with a message of gratitude to our country’s veterans and their families.

This year’s High Five Tour will be truly unique as Ford Mustang clubs throughout the country get behind the wheel of the 2013 Mustang GT500 “Super Snake.” The clubs will unite to bring the car to events across the nation, including stops at Ford dealerships, Sport Clips Haircuts locations nationwide, community events, veterans’ organizations, military bases and race tracks, among others. During the five-month tour, the red, white and blue, 850 horsepower Mustang will cover more than 21,000 miles, traveling to more than 60 cities and making stops in 48 states.

The High Five Tour 2013’s mission is also to raise funds to build two “smart homes” for two deserving wounded warriors and their families — SFC John Masson of Fayetteville, N.C., and Sgt. Rusty Dunagan of Guthrie, Okla. Wounded Warriors Family Support has partnered with the Gary Sinise Foundation to build the “smart homes,” and 100 percent of all funds donated to the High Five Tour will go directly to the construction of the homes. The specially designed homes are custom-built to provide severely wounded veterans quality of life and independence that otherwise would not be possible.

Wounded Warriors Family Support is proud to partner with Sport Clips during the High Five Tour 2013. Now through July 26, supporters can donate to the High Five Tour at the more than 1,000 Sport Clips locations nationwide.

“We’re excited to get the High Five Tour 2013 rolling,” said Col. John Folsom, founder and president of Wounded Warriors Family Support. “It’s very powerful to see the show of support from across the nation for our country’s military families and to see the direct impact the tour will have on the lives of these two wounded warriors and their families.”
