Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group Announces the Radisson Blu Conference & Spa Hotel, Istanbul Tuzla, Turkey

August 16, 2013 // Franchising.com // Brussels - Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the largest and most dynamic hotel companies worldwide, today announced the Radisson Blu Conference & Spa Hotel, Istanbul Tuzla: The property will feature 249 rooms, is under construction and scheduled to welcome guests in fourth quarter 2013. This will be Carlson Rezidor’s seventh hotel in Istanbul and further strengthen the group’s leading position within the upper upscale segment in Istanbul. In Turkey, Carlson Rezidor has 11 hotels in operation and under development.

The new Radisson Blu hotel is located in the Tuzla district of Anatolian Istanbul and 21 miles southeast of the main city center. Besides 249 rooms and suites with contemporary design and Radisson Blu signature services, such as complimentary high speed internet access, the hotel will also offer two restaurants with terraces, three bars, and 10,809 square feet of meeting facilities – comprising a 1,980 square foot ballroom and a 1,980 square foot conference room, as well as eight meeting rooms from 98 square feet to 853 square feet. Moreover, the first class and full service property will have an indoor and outdoor pool, a 13,123 square foot wellness area which includes a sauna and Hammam, massage facilities, a tennis court, a large garden, and parking facilities.

Tuzla is home to Istanbul’s Formula 1 race track, the Turkish Naval Academy and several universities. The area is also popular amongst wealthy residents to have a second home outside the busy city centre of Istanbul. The surroundings of the hotel are characterized by smaller business parks and high class retail outlets. Adjacent to the property, several luxury villas for residential use are being built.

The hotel is one mile from the Sabiha Gokçen International Airport, Istanbul’s second international airport. In 2012, the airport handled 9.5 million domestic travelers and five million international visitors and the passenger traffic is estimated to continue its exponential growth for the forthcoming years.
