Sport Clips Haircuts Continues to "Dominate the Category," Shares News of Another Successful Year at National Huddle

HOUSTON - April 7, 2014 // PRNewswire // - The nation's leading men's and boys' hair care franchise, Sport Clips Haircuts, held its annual Huddle in Houston last week. More than 2,200 team members from around the country attended the event themed "From Leaders to Legends," that featured nationally-known guest speakers and company highlights. Founder and CEO Gordon Logan addressed the gathering, sharing:

The franchise's same store sales (for stores open more than one year) were up seven percent in 2013 over 2012, another solid year-over-year increase after a nine percent increase the year before.

Sport Clips opened 151 stores across the country and in Canada in 2013 and expects to open closer to 200 this year.

With the opening of these new stores, Sport Clips franchises and company-owned stores are expected to provide more than 13,500 jobs across the country by the end of 2014.

Help A Hero, Sport Clips' signature program among its many military support efforts, raised more than $525,000 through clients and hard-working team members to sponsor Veterans of Foreign Wars-administered scholarships for returning service members. Forty-four spring semester scholarships were awarded this year, and more than 60 fall scholarships, up to $5,000 each, will be awarded to help veterans transition from military to civilian careers through education. Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship recipient Paul Belk, a former military chaplain who was injured while serving, spoke to the National Huddle crowd about the significance of the scholarship in his own life and to other veterans.

"As we continue to dominate this business category with our Championship Client Experience, we are proud of what we have accomplished and our successes. We are focused on our vision for the future of Sport Clips and what we need to do, working together, to continue to build the brand," Logan shared with team members. "We are committed to be the company that will enable all of us to achieve our goals and will continue to commit the resources and demonstrate the resolve to make it happen. Together, we are creating a future of which we will all be proud to have been a part."

Guest at the annual gathering included authors and speakers Jason Young, Richard Hadden, Rafe Hardy, Sam Burns, Stephanie Kocielski, Jason Schwind, Winn Claybaugh; Roy Spence, co-founder and chairman of GSD&M; and former New England Patriot and five-time NFL All-Pro Brain Holloway.
