Right at Home Continues International Momentum

June 06, 2014 // Franchising.com // OMAHA - Right at Home, a leading in-home care franchise, has situated itself at the forefront of the in-home care industry in 2014 by strengthening its international presence.

With outstanding 2013 growth statistics, and now the launch of offices in Australia and Japan, Right at Home is positioned for continued success as it looks forward to offering its services to more seniors and disabled adults around the world.

Right at Home's stellar reputation and the growing need for in-home senior care have been the driving forces behind the company's impressive expansion. In 2013, the company's international revenue totaled $6.5 million (USD). The company also grew 150 percent, year-over-year, increasing from 20 international units to 50 across five continents by March 2014.

"The growth we experienced is a significant indicator of the success we had predicted," Right at Home Founder and Executive Chairman Allen Hager said. "The need for our services abroad, coupled with the exceptional experience and skill sets of our master franchisees in these countries, ensures that Right at Home soon will be able to serve more of the world's aging population. The only place for us to go is up."

Right at Home has continuously expanded its global reach since its founding in 1995. The company's current portfolio includes a total of eight countries with the opening of offices in Brisbane, Australia, in April, and in Tokyo, Japan, in July. For the remainder of 2014, Right at Home's focus is to expand into several additional European countries.

"Regardless of where you live, the bottom line is that the general public is ageing, living longer and wanting to spend their final years in the comfort of their own homes," said Blake Martin, Vice President of International Operations at Right at Home. "By partnering with enthusiastic, passionate and experienced franchisees, we're excited about the positive impact that Right at Home will continue to have on seniors across the world."

The global demand for Right at Home's quality services is apparent in its successes within international markets. In 2013, the company witnessed system-wide growth of 178 percent in China and 382 percent in the U.K. , prompting the British Franchise Association to recognize Right at Home U.K. as a finalist in the Emerging Franchisor category at the 2014 British Franchise Awards. Right at Home's momentum in the U.K. is unlikely to slow as it recently celebrated the signing of its 24th franchise. Additionally, the brand eyes expansion into Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Beyond the successes of Right at Home in China and the U.K., Canada also has proved to be fertile ground for the Right at Home model. Since 2013, Right at Home has expanded from their headquarters in Burlington, Ontario, to Alberta, with plans to open locations in British Columbia, Quebec, and Eastern Ontario in the near future. The company has made similar progress in Brazil, where franchise development for the year focuses outward from Sao Paulo into Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro.

By 2050, there will be an estimated 2 billion people over the age of 65 worldwide. At present, Right at Home is providing in-home care to seniors and disabled adults in eight countries on five continents. Right at Home is committed to improving the lives of those they serve and plans to substantially expand their international presence by the end of 2015, bringing this globally needed service to many more communities.
