i9 Sports Celebrates Strong 2014 Systemwide Growth; Signs Agreements to Expand in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin

Youth Sports Franchise Positions Brand for Future Expansion

March 03, 2015 // Franchising.com // TAMPA, Fla. - i9 Sports, the nation’s first and fastest-growing youth sports league franchise, announced today it kicked off 2015 by signing two new franchise agreements for locations in Philadelphia, Pa. and Madison, Wis. These new agreements signed within the first six weeks of the year, coupled with the corporate expansion i9 Sports achieved in 2014, positions the brand for future development across the United States in 2015 and beyond.

“In 2014, i9 Sports opened 15 company locations, celebrated our one-millionth registration and strengthened our expansion strategy,” said Frank Fiume, founder and chief executive officer of i9 Sports. “We are thrilled with the momentum we’ve experienced and are excited to bring our two new franchise partners on board. Both the DuPonts and Reagan Li share our passion for youth athletics. We are confident our two newest locations in Madison and Philadelphia will offer kids and communities the fun, safe and organized sports experience for which i9 Sports has been known for 12 years.”

Rachel and Michael DuPont will bring i9 Sports to Madison, marking the brand’s first location in Wisconsin. The DuPont’s were both involved in athletics throughout their childhood and adolescence, and were drawn to i9 Sports both because the brand is dedicated to promoting sportsmanship in youth sports and because the franchise opportunity offers the ability to own a business while maintaining a flexible work/life balance. Rachel has worked extensively and been involved with athletic programs including Wisconsin Sports Development, the Badger State Games, IRONMAN Wisconsin and ESPN’s Great Outdoor Games. Launching in fall 2015, their program will offer the core sports of flag football, t-ball, soccer and basketball.

Reagan Li purchased the i9 Sports territory in the western suburbs of Philadelphia and will launch the program in fall 2015. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Li’s passion developed when he was a child and he continued specifically with the sport of volleyball throughout high school, college and into his adult life. His belief in the positive impact of youth sports, coupled with his desire to impact his community, led Li to purchase his own i9 Sports franchise. With previous experience as a financial, business intelligence and revenue analyst, this is Li’s first franchise venture.

To support the company’s franchise expansion plans, i9 Sports hired Charlie Carnahan in November 2014 as the company’s director of franchise development. Carnahan brings more than a decade of franchise development experience to i9 Sports. In his new role, Carnahan is responsible for recruiting qualified franchisee candidates to the i9 Sports network and for assisting existing franchisees who wish to purchase additional territories.

The company was founded and began franchising in 2003 on the principle that the number one reason kids play organized sports is to have fun, not to become the next draft pick. i9 Sports has since grown to 138 locations across the United States. With convenient flexible hours, no real estate or upfront inventory, i9 Sports is a low-investment, home-based franchise opportunity offering entrepreneurs a compelling business with great profit potential.

i9 Sports plans to open dozens of new franchise locations each year over the next several years and has extensive franchise opportunities available across the country including a focus on markets in the Pacific Coast, Midwest and Northeast. The youth sports franchise is seeking qualified candidates with a desire to impact their local community. While sports experience is not required, the ideal candidate should have an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion to build a successful business with a community focus.
