College Hunks Franchise Opens First South Carolina Franchise

Charleston Franchise Owner Has Built Strong Ties to Market

TAMPA, FL - (Marketwired - Jun 3, 2015) - College Hunks Hauling Junk has expanded into South Carolina with its first franchise in that state. Owner Bradley Simmons opened his franchise in Charleston and offers moving and junk removal services in and around the Charleston area.

Simmons, a Virginian and graduate of Roanoke College, opted to launch his own business rather than attend law school, and he says the Charleston area is an area he viewed as ripe for what College Hunks Hauling Junk has to offer.

"I found this franchise and decided I'd rather go ahead and run my own business than work for someone else, or go into a lot of student loan debt," Simmons said. "I've been traveling to Charleston my whole life and always wanted to live here. This gave me that opportunity."

The South Carolina expansion is part of a national move toward new-market penetration for Florida-based College Hunks Hauling Junk.

"During our first decade, we were able to succeed in building strong franchises in many major markets," said Omar Soliman, CEO and co-founder of College Hunks Hauling Junk. "Now we are focusing on other areas of the country that are ripe for our services. We believe that our attention to detail and outstanding customer service will allow entrepreneurs like Bradley to succeed and grow."

In the Palmetto State, Simmons has been busy raising the brand's profile with radio commercials and sponsorship of the Minor League Baseball Charleston RiverDogs. He's also gotten his College Hunks moving and removal franchise involved with Hootie's Homegrown Roundup: Back to Basics -- an upcoming Hootie & The Blowfish benefit concert to provide school supplies for local children.
Simmons says that other factors are getting College Hunks Hauling Junk noticed, as well.

"We are visibly different from our competition," he said. "We wear khakis and polo shirts, and other movers around here do not. We're much more professional in appearance and attitude. And I can tell you, Charlestonians put a lot of stock in a professional appearance!"

Soliman agrees, and he says this distinction isn't limited to South Carolina.

"In the past, junk removal and moving services have left a bad impression on people for being late, inefficient, and generally sloppy," Soliman said. "College Hunks Hauling Junk has changed all that by showing up on time, looking neat and clean, and providing superior value no matter what the job. People notice the difference, and that's why we're succeeding in South Carolina and everywhere else."

As he looks ahead, Simmons says he is planning an aggressive expansion both along the coast and inland.

"I'm looking to expand my territory," he said. "My goal is to have the entire coast from Myrtle Beach to Edisto Island, and then work inland up to Columbia."
