Snapology Brings Fun Learning to Northeast Ohio

August 16, 2016 // Franchising.com // PITTSBURGH – Kids who take part in Snapology classes think they’re just having fun playing with LEGO® bricks, K’Nex and computers. What they may not realize is that they’re learning, too.

Set to open early fall, Snapology of Kent will serve the Kent, Aurora, Hudson, and surrounding areas. Company plans for more nearby territories within the next couple of years in Akron, Canton, and Youngstown.

“I truly enjoy working with children, and will implement all of the Snapology programs at the highest-quality level,” said Snapology of Kent Owner Alicia Lenczewski. “Working in education for about 20 years, I have always been dedicated to providing the most authentic learning experiences that motivate children to think but have fun at the same time.”

A born-and-raised Ohioan, Lenczewski served as a teacher for 13 years, and then worked as a principal in Maple Heights and in Cuyahoga Falls. After taking time off to spend more time with her four children, Lenczewski wanted to reignite her passion for education and pursued entrepreneurship. Also, as the Troop Leader of Brownie Troop 90047, she wants to further teach her Girl Scouts about implementing a business, and interest them in engineering and technology—which is a male-dominated realm.

“I am thrilled to bring Snapology to the families of Northeast Ohio and provide a fun, hands-on learning experience that helps kids grow,” said Lenczewski. “Every Snapology program offers an all-inclusive curriculum that welcomes children of any learning caliber—including those with extra needs.”

In addition to being introduced to robotics and science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) concepts, Snapology students learn skills like patience and teamwork and have a place to engage their creativity.

With 30 locations throughout the United States and Canada – ten of which have opened since the franchise opportunity was officially launched ten months ago – company plans call for opening 20 new locations per year moving forward.

“We are confident that Alicia’s extensive experience as an educator will continue to enrich the Kent area through Snapology,” said Snapology Co-Founder Laura Coe. “Our hands-on services and programs, coupled with the passion of our franchisees, strengthen the foundation of our brand. We have no reason to look to the future with anything but enthusiasm.”

Snapology offers a wide array of interactive, play-based activities for children ages 1-14 – including enrichment classes, birthday parties, workshops, camps, scouting events and field trips – mainly using building materials such as LEGO® bricks and other similar building tools and technology. The programs can be customized based on the number of children, age of children and time allotment, and can be broken down into individual classes, such as superhero or Minecraft themed events, competition robotics teams, science classes, team building events and motor skill development courses that are perfect for pre-school children.

Additionally, the curriculum is designed to benefit gifted and traditional students, as well as children with special needs, including those with sensory processing and autism spectrum disorders.

“Our approach is based on proven research; that children’s’ best learning experiences come from actively designing, creating, interacting and inventing,” said Snapology Co-Founder Lisa Coe, noting that Snapology’s work is about re-defining play and re-imagining learning. “We’re helping children develop the intellectual, emotional, social and creative skills that are of lifelong benefit to them and their communities.”
