Launch Trampoline Park to Double National Presence in Next Few Years

Three-time Super Bowl champion Ty Law and entrepreneur Rob Arnold set to dominate the family entertainment industry with “more than just a trampoline park”

November 14, 2018 // Franchising.com // WARWICK, RI - Launch Trampoline Park - a year-round, family entertainment and action park co-founded by former New England Patriots cornerback and three-time Super Bowl champion Ty Law and entrepreneur Rob Arnold - is bringing its giant jumping surfaces and other exciting attractions to various markets across the country.

With 20 parks currently operating in 13 states, more than half of which have opened since the beginning of 2017 alone, company plans call for opening as many as 10-15 new parks each year over the next several years. Development deals have already been signed for 30 new parks throughout California, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey and Texas.

“The demand for family entertainment generally has rocketed, making the industry one of the fastest-growing sectors of the economy. The trend is only likely to continue, as the market for after school activities while both parents work is booming. It’s also an industry where there’s no shortage of potential customers,” said Law, noting that by 2020 the number of children in the United States is projected to rise to 80 million and account for approximately 24 percent of the population. “I don’t know if we’ll replace other forms of entertainment, but Launch is another place for families to have a good time while being active. We’re the new kid on the block in the amusement industry and look forward to dominating the sector in the years to come.”

Upon retiring from the NFL, Law nearly went the route of so many other retired athletes and became a restaurateur, but he took an interest in the family entertainment business in 2011 after meeting Arnold, a former construction business owner who did some work on his house.

They agreed after further research that action parks had the potential to become the next generation of family amusement. They opened their first Launch in 2012.

Today, mixing sports and entertainment, Launch is a year-round, family entertainment and action park featuring giant jumping surfaces, dodgeball courts, slam dunk basketball, foam pits, and kid’s courts, as well as a full arcade with over 30 video, prizing and redemption games. More recent features include ninja courses, laser tag arenas, virtual reality rooms, and ropes courses just to name a few.

“It’s no secret that indoor trampoline parks have become a significant contender in the family entertainment industry, and there are no signs that such parks are going away anytime soon,” said Arnold. “However, Launch is more than just a trampoline park. Our innovative team has developed an exceptional new offering in the exploding industry by bringing a variety of new activities to make the experience more interesting for both new and returning guests.”

Each Launch park also includes Krave, a restaurant where you can create your own pizza fresh to order, as well as ice cream sundaes.

Launch’s primary target market is families with children ages 4-14, but also targets other audiences such as high school and college students and other adults. The parks are the perfect social gathering place for birthday parties, date night, family events, corporate events, fundraisers or just friendly get-togethers in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Including a $50,000 franchise fee, the total initial investment necessary to open a single location ranges from $1,113,285 to $2,828,080. Each park typically occupies between 25,000 and 45,000 square feet of space and employs 50-75 mostly part-time people.

“I was one of Launch’s first franchisees and have seen the company grow from a few parks to a nationwide brand, and can honestly say they have not stopped evolving and staying ahead of the industry,” said Mark Murphy, owner of the Launch park in Watertown, Massachusetts.
