Massage Heights Signs Agreement to Develop Two New Retreats in Detroit, Michigan

Dynamic Duo of Franchisees to Expand Brand Presence in Midwest Market with New Locations

July 24, 2019 // Franchising.com // DETROIT, Michigan - Massage Heights, a leader of professional, affordable and convenient therapeutic massage and facial services, announced today that it has signed a franchise agreement with Mike Sammam and Dr. Hatem Hatem to develop two new Retreats in the Detroit, Michigan market. The first location is slated to open this December, while the second location is set to open within six months to a year after the first opening. Marking the second and third locations in Detroit, the brand continues to grow in the market and attract a broader audience.

Both first-time franchisees, Mike and Dr. Hatem bring passion and experience from their industries to the Massage Heights family. Mike joins the team with an impressive background in construction management, where his Master of Science led him to the role of construction project manager for COI Enterprises. From there, his journey took him into owning his own transportation company. Dr. Hatem earned his medical degree from St. George University School of Medicine, where he went on to become a successful OB-GYN in the San Antonio community. His dedication to the health and wellness of women during critical times in their lives led him to become interested in the healing power of massage therapy.

Celebrating 15 years in business, Massage Heights, announced another banner year for the brand, reporting $104.8 million in revenue. The brand is aggressively recruiting single- and multi-unit franchisees to help the brand grow to 200 Retreats nationwide by the end of 2020.

Prospective franchisees should have $175,000 in liquid assets and minimum $400,000 net worth per location, as well as experience in sales or retail management and managing hourly wage employees. As part of its growth strategy, Massage Heights is targeting franchise development in Nashville, Chicago, St. Louis, South Florida, and Las Vegas.
