RockBox Fitness Signs Three-Location Deal for North Carolina

Boxing and kickboxing fitness concept eyeing Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Durham

October 28, 2019 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTE, NC - RockBox Fitness - a state-of-the-art fitness franchise that combines boxing, kickboxing, and functional training into high-energy group workouts - has recently signed a development deal for three North Carolina locations in the Triangle area.

All three studios will be owned and operated by local resident Jeff McFarlane. While there are no set addresses at this time for the new studios, McFarlane is eyeing Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Durham as potential sites for his RockBox locations.

While this is McFarlane’s first franchise venture, he’s an experienced entrepreneur who looks forward to scaling the RockBox brand in the Triangle area. In 1996, McFarlane founded IT Xchange, a company that would eventually be rebranded as a part of Xchange Technology Group and would operate globally in 12 countries. He currently is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Damovo, an international Information and Communication Technology service business.

Founded in 2017 and franchising since early 2018, RockBox Fitness was built to avoid the number one problem with any fitness program – boredom. The studios feature all the boxing equipment and heavy bags one would expect for a boxing- and kickboxing-based workout, plus an array of functional training tools like kettle bells, battle ropes and sleds (elliptical and treadmill machines need not apply). In addition, the studios are equipped with high-end sound systems to rock the tunes that keep members pumped and pushing hard. Color-adaptive lighting is also used to cue another level of psychological motivation. When the lights change, so does the intensity.
