Best in Class Education Center Continues Bay Area Expansion

Supplemental education center signs deal for two East Bay locations, eyes as many as 20 total centers in the area in the coming years

November 13, 2019 // Franchising.com // Bellevue, Wash. - Best in Class Education Center - a key player in the $7 billion tutoring industry - is coming to town, providing added learning to the students in the Dublin and surrounding East Bay area.

The new Best in Class location will be located at 7660 Amador Boulevard, Suite 352 in Dublin and will be owned and operated by San Ramon resident Monika Sharma. The new center, which is slated to open in January of 2020, will join the nine Best in Class locations already open and operating in the Bay area. Best in Class believes the market can hold 20 total centers in the greater Bay area market. Sharma will be opening a second center in San Ramon in the coming months.

“I cannot wait to introduce Best in Class to the Dublin community,” Sharma said. “I know the value of enrichment programs in preparing kids to excel in their future academic lives, and I believe that Best in Class provides students with an extra boost by offering the flexibility of enrichment classes as well as private tutoring. I hope to offer avenues for local students to further develop their potential through Best in Class.”

Monika has been involved in education for the majority of her professional career. While living in India, she worked as a school administrator before eventually becoming an English teacher. Upon her arrival in Canada and eventually in the United States, Monika became involved in supplemental education, working as an English and Math instructor. Having been involved with school administrations in three different countries, she feels she can offer a unique perspective on education that can provide great opportunities for students in the Dublin area.

“I’ve spent time in schools in India, Canada, and the United States so I feel like I have a great grasp on different approaches to education,” said Sharma. “After seeing the different education systems, I became inspired to provide educational opportunities to students in the Dublin community. I am excited to use my experience in helping the students of Dublin work toward their dreams.”

Founded in 1995 and franchising since 2011, Best in Class is a premium education center providing supplemental education and committed to building students’ foundational knowledge and critical thinking skills. Courses include mathematics, reading & writing, private tutoring, gifted test prep, SAT/ACT prep, and more. Students also benefit from individual attention, active instruction in small groups, and engaging course material aligned with common standards.

“We are incredibly proud of our growth in the Bay Area and we are excited for Monika to join the Best in Class family,” said founder and CEO Hao Lam. “Monika’s unique experiences in different education systems combined with her passion and dedication to her students will make her location a great success and a true asset to students in the Dublin community.”

The local expansion comes at a time when Best in Class continues to rapidly grow its national footprint. Today, the Seattle-based franchise has more than 60 locations in 13 states, nearly one-third of which have opened since the beginning of last year alone.
