Scenthound Announces New CFO and Chief Veterinarian

Grooming franchise adds two new top dogs to their pack as they prepare for their highly anticipated growth

January 23, 2020 // Franchising.com // JUPITER, Fla. – Scenthound, a new franchise in the $75 billion professional pet industry, is proud to welcome two new leaders to their corporate team as they begin the New Year with their highly anticipated expansion. The brand has brought on Donald H Noble as their Chief Financial Officer and James MacLean as their Chief Veterinarian.

Noble joins Scenthound with experience over 15 years of c-suite experience. He has helped over 30 companies start, thrive during ultra-high growth, raise capital and execute strategic directions. He is no stranger to the franchising world, and has worked for both franchisees and franchisors throughout his career. About a month before being introduced to Scenthound, Don and his wife Ashley adopted a rescue dog named TomTom, who is just as eager to get involved with the exciting pet care brand.

“As a dog lover, the brand itself piqued my interest, but [CEO] Tim Vogel is the reason I had to join the team,” said Noble. “He is a visionary and the brand is poised for extreme growth under his leadership. There is nothing like it in the industry and I believe that, with our strengthening team, we are about to take the industry by storm.”

MacLean brings 26 years of veterinary expertise to Scenthound, in addition to his impressive business experience from running and selling pet hospitals and earning his MBA from Georgetown. As Chief Veterinarian, MacLean will help strengthen Scenthound’s already-revolutionary grooming strategy and advise their staff from a health and medicine perspective.

“Scenthound is a rare find,” said MacLean. “They’re more than just grooming, and I think what they’re doing in terms of dog preventative care has so much potential to disrupt the pet health industry. It is already such a well-run business and you can tell everyone on board – from the Scent Techs all the way to the executives – truly believe in this business and want to change dogs’ lives.”

Scenthound was founded in 2015 after Vogel spent more than 10 years running both a mobile grooming business and local grooming “scenters”, and seeing first-hand the shortcomings within a booming pet industry and the lack of education surrounding dog grooming. Vogel began a mission to give dogs and their owners a fast, easy, and affordable grooming solution with scenters that provide a haircut, but more importantly, focus on a dog’s health.

Embedded in the name, Scenthound focuses on the five core areas of maintenance: Skin, Coat, Ears, Nails and Teeth. Their Scent Techs are fully trained to give your dog the care that their breed requires – not just a haircut, and the membership program allows for dog owners to have the peace of mind that their furry friends are cared for on a routine basis.

“This is an exciting time for Scenthound as we continue to build up our team of amazing leaders who will help us on our expansion journey,” said Vogel. “I have no doubt that both Don and James will do incredible jobs in providing the foundation we need for growth and help us accomplish our goal of helping as many dogs as we can.”
