Take 5 Oil Change Announces First Acquisition of 2020 in Addition to Adding 11 New Stores in January

February 20, 2020 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Take 5 Oil Change® (Take 5), one of the largest quick lube and automotive service operators in the nation, announced its acquisition and conversion of Pennzoil 10 Minute Lube in South Houston, TX. This addition continues Take 5’s growth in both company-owned and franchise locations across North America.

"The team and I are very pleased with our ability to execute our growth strategy in 2019 and are looking forward to continued success in 2020," said Danny Rivera, brand president of Take 5 Oil Change. "The addition of Pennzoil 10 Minute Lube continues our strategy of aggressively expanding Take 5’s differentiated and simple business model through both our company-owned and franchise platforms.”

With its fast, friendly service and unique business model, Take 5 disrupted the traditional oil change industry with its speedy, customer-focused service and stay-in-the-car approach. In 2019, it broke 500 locations, and this acquisition makes 11 new stores so far in 2020, with four ground up-locations already completed.

“Over the last 18 years, Pennzoil 10 Minute Lube has prided itself on providing a high level of service to our customers in South Houston,” said Don Nguyen, former owner of Pennzoil 10 Minute Lube. “During this process, it has become clear that Take 5 will take care of our customers by offering them the same fast and friendly service. I’m excited to sell them the business and watch it continue to grow.”

As part of their enhanced customer experience plans, Take 5 is immediately implementing a 25 percent off oil change discount for all active-duty military service members and veterans. To receive the discount, customers must simply present an accepted form of military ID.

Honoring those who serve and their families have always been a core value of Take 5 Oil Change. It demonstrates these values not only by providing this unique discount to military customers, but by employing many military men and women, and by corporately partnering with military organizations for charitable giving. Take 5’s goal is to invest back into the stores and the local economies that they’re growing in.

Take 5’s simple, yet unique, business model has gained the attention of investors from a variety of industries, including quick-service restaurants, real estate and the automotive industry looking to expand and diversify their portfolios. It is actively seeking single-unit and multi-unit franchsie owners to expand the brand’s footprint.
