The number one, Silicon Valley-based after-school coding program set to open in Pasadena, Calif.

February 20, 2020 // // Palo Alto, Calif. - theCoderSchool - whose motto is “Learn to code. Change the world.” - is building on its California presence with the opening of the first school in Pasadena. The school - which aims to show the next generation of kids how inspiring and exciting technology can be - is set to open in early March 2020. The Grand Opening is set to coincide with International Women’s Day and will take place on March 8, 2020 from 1- 3 PM.

Located at 319 S. Arroyo Unit #5 in Pasadena, by Duran’s Flowers and across from the restaurant Houston’s, the new school is owned by Nicole Chang and Denis Fasquelle, who have lived in the area for the past several years with their two children.

“We firmly believe in theCoderSchool's philosophy and mission in providing high quality and individualized coding education for every student,” Chang said. “Coding gives students the tools to not only learn new skills but learn how to express themselves in new and creative ways. We’re excited to open our doors to students from all backgrounds and interests and create a collaborative community within our school.”

Chang and Fasquelle are bringing an international mindset to their location. With decades of combined international business experience, the pair has worked for companies and founded companies in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. With the wide range of cultures in the Pasadena area, they hope to facilitate an international community built on education, collaboration, mutual respect and helping students achieve their highest potential.

“In our experience, technology is the future in most every industry,” added Fasquelle. “Giving kids access to early coding education will open up new opportunities in education and the workplace. It’s never been more important to have a strong foundation in coding skills.”

Founded by Hansel Lynn and incubated with the help of his best friend, Wayne Teng, theCoderSchool was built with the desire to provide children aged 7 to 18 years with a welcoming environment to develop computer programming skills. theCoderSchool uses a variety of platforms to teach various coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, Python, Javascript and more. Every Code Coaching lesson is customized with the help of trained Code Coaches® who use a 2-on-1 approach to teaching.

“As we continue to expand our presence throughout the country, it’s critical to find the right franchise partners who are truly passionate about setting kids up with a positive, life-long relationship with technology and coding,” added Lynn. “This is why we couldn’t be more excited about working with Nicole and Denis. They are passionate about our mission and bring an incredible amount of experience to their school while emphasizing the creative and functional sides of coding.”
