Office Pride Gearing Up For Coronavirus Fight

March 02, 2020 // Franchising.com // Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Services franchise owners are gearing up for a battle against the coronavirus in offices and all types of commercial facilities around the country. Office Pride headquarters is in Florida, which confirmed two new cases of the virus Sunday.

Office Pride of Fort Myers-Cape Coral owner Bill Staggs, who is certified in biohazard cleanup, is meeting Wednesday with corporate officials and a vendor about new product technology that provides the most efficient and effective disinfection process currently available. In fact, many Office Pride units have already been utilizing the new technology for some time.

“Customers are understandably worried about the coronavirus and its impact on the economy and people’s health,” Staggs said. “They want to take steps to protect themselves and their families. In the work we provide, it’s critical that we provide intelligent disinfection and sanitization solutions. That’s why I’m looking into this new technology.”

Companies that want to take extra precautions in advance of their commercial cleaners handling deep disinfection can do things as simple as frequently wiping down common areas using disinfection wipes such as those manufactured by Lysol or Clorox. The label should spell out which varieties kill human coronavirus, flu, strep, etc.

“The most important things are to be proactive, make sure that you’re using the right product for the job, and that you allow the cleaning product to remain on the surface for the amount of time designated on the label,” said Amy Jackson, CBSE, learning and development specialist. “It must remain wet for the time indicated to ensure it kills the virus and the surface is thoroughly disinfected.”

Office Pride and its franchise owners have been closely monitoring new developments concerning the coronavirus. Office Pride headquarters employees and franchise owners are taking all the necessary precautions to protect their own health. The best practices to protect against the coronavirus, flu or other illnesses are to wash your hands frequently, stay home when you are sick and properly wipe down counters and key touch points, such as telephones, light switches, door handles, microwave and refrigerator handles, etc.
