Franchise Times has Made the Cannabis Dispensary Franchisor’s Presentation Accessible for Non-Attendees to Stream

April 03, 2020 // Franchising.com // DENVER – For those who missed the 2020 Franchise Investment Conference (FIC), Franchise Times has made the event’s presentations available for anyone to stream.

Hosted by the industry-leading publication, the event took place March 9-11, 2020 in Plano, Texas and connected franchise owners, operators, lenders and investors – offering networking and an inside look at business and investment opportunities. In attendance were Unity Rd.’s VP of Franchise Development Justin Livingston and President John Darwin who presented on the dispensary franchise and taught attendees about the current landscape of the cannabis industry.

During the presentation, Livingston and Darwin discussed:

• Current state of the cannabis market and economic factors; and

During his portion of the presentation, Livingston, who has been in franchising for more than 15 years, shared, “We’re not a new spin on an existing industry. We’re not a new version of a concept that is otherwise highly saturated in franchising. We’re bringing a new industry into franchising.” He continued, “The money that is in this [cannabis] industry is crazy, absolutely bananas. Having come from franchising and been a part of companies that have big AUVs, you come into cannabis and you go: there’s a typo here.”

With industry projections expecting to reach $30 billion by 2025, the highly-regulated sector boasts alluring possibilities for those savvy enough to break into the business, but the obstacles between getting started and opening a store are challenging.
