Robotic Lawn Mowing Arrives in Tampa

High-tech Mowbot franchise brings future of lawn maintenance to The Big Guava

June 18, 2020 // Franchising.com // TAMPA, Fla. - Mowbot, the nation’s premier robotic lawnmowing service, is opening a new location, Mowbot of Tampa, this June. Local business owner Scott Parker is partnering with Mowbot, a new, cutting-edge national franchise, and Husqvarna, the world’s leader in outdoor power products, to bring robotic lawnmowers to lawn-loving businesses and homeowners in Florida.

The small bot, which operates on GPS technology, lives in homeowners’ yards, and runs completely on battery power, is disrupting the dirty $99.5 billion lawn care business with its clean, green, and quiet solution to lawn mowing. It’s the perfect way for homeowners, campuses, recreational spaces, property management groups and homeowners’ associations to save time and the environment in caring for Florida’s fast-growing warm weather grasses. That’s exactly what drew Parker to this new business opportunity.

“I am so excited to be the first to bring this technology to Tampa,” said Scott Parker. “I have a deep background in technology and my wife and I are very environmentally conscious, so Mowbot’s battery-powered equipment really attracted us. I can’t wait to show new customers how we can improve and clean up traditional lawn care, and make their lives a little easier too,” said Parker.

After careers in the U.S. Navy and the financial field in corporate America, Parker was ready to strike out and start something of his own.

“I saw the opportunity to disrupt the current pollution-producing lawn care business model, and the Tampa area has lots of grass that needs to be maintained,” said Parker. “I am ready to grow this business and the clean technology industry as a whole.”

North Carolina-based businessmen Tony Hopp and Jeff Dudan began Mowbot because they see the robot revolution that is coming, and the opportunity to be a major disrupter in the outdated and dirty lawn care industry that will benefit from a high-tech, environmentally friendly alternative.

“We are excited to welcome Scott to the Mowbot family,” said Tony Hopp, Mowbot CEO. “Tampa is a great area to have this technology. There is such diversity there and it’s a very pro-business community, so we know Scott will thrive and customers will benefit from his service.”
