Buff City Soap Continues Tennessee Takeover

Handmade soap shop continues rapid southern growth by opening first Columbia store

September 10, 2020 // Franchising.com // Columbia, Tenn. - Buff City Soap is continuing to grow its presence in the Volunteer State and is slated to open its first Columbia store on Friday, September 18. The brand - which was founded in Bartlett - has undergone rapid expansion throughout the Southern marketplace, recently opening several stores in Kentucky and Indiana. The new store in Columbia will be located at 112 W 7th Street in the Downtown Columbia Square, and will be the brand’s 18th store in Tennessee, and its fifth store in the greater Nashville area.

“It is exciting to be bringing Buff City Soap to a new market in Tennessee,” stated lifelong south-Nashville resident and local district manager Patricia Pierce. “We are eager to provide the residents of Columbia with access to Buff City’s 100% handmade, plant-based bath and body products and can’t wait to open our doors.”

Each Buff City Soap store offers more than 30 unique and customizable scents across dozens of handcrafted soap products; including its famous soap bars, bath bombs, foaming hand soap, and even laundry soap. The brand’s products are crafted by local artisans at the in-store Makeries, which allow guests to customize the scent and ingredients used in the process to create a unique scent profile.

“Buff City Soap offers consumers an up-close-and-personal look at the soap-making process, which is completely unique to the industry,” said Pierce. “Walking into a Buff City Soap store is unique because not only do we offer our products, we offer an entire experience by showcasing our Makeries and allowing people to see their own soap creation being handmade right in front of their eyes.”

Founded in 2013, Buff City Soap has created a high quality alternative to commercial soap products full of harsh chemicals, detergents, animal fats, and sulfates. By giving customers the chance to see the whole making process live in each Soap Makery, Buff City Soap is disrupting the consumer goods industry by focusing on transparency of ingredients and process.

The new store hours are Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 pm and Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 pm. Pierce and her team are looking to host a grand opening event later on this Fall.
