D1 Training Announces Two Multi-Unit Agreements Bringing Six New Facilities to Colorado

Leading Fitness Franchise Accelerates Expansion Across Colorado, Continues to Target Key DMAs for Further Growth

October 14, 2020 // Franchising.com // DENVER - D1 Training - a leading fitness concept utilizing the five core tenets of athletic-based training to help people of all ages achieve their sport and fitness goals - has announced two new multi-unit agreements that will bring six facilities to Colorado in 2021. The state proves to be a prime area for expansion as D1 builds on the incredible success of its debut facility in Colorado Springs. The new agreements contribute to the brand’s overall explosive nationwide growth - now with 165-plus awarded territories in just three short years since transitioning to a franchise model.

The first multi-unit agreement is a four-unit deal in which franchisee Randy Colley will debut locations in Cherry Hills, Littleton, Lone Tree, and Aurora. Colley is currently in sight selection for the first facility which is slated to open in Cherry Hills Fall 2021. Behind the second multi-unit agreement is franchisee Jason Carmichael who is set to open two locations in the North Denver area, also by Fall 2021. D1 Training continues to seek qualified franchise partners in additional target development cities throughout the state including Boulder, Castle Rock, Fort Collins, Parker, and Wheat Ridge.

“Our team is well poised to continue expanding throughout Colorado with strategic franchise partnerships,” said Dan Murphy, Chief Operating Officer of D1 Training. “The scholastic sports culture, demand for high-quality adult fitness training, and an open real estate market is fueling our development. While the pandemic created an ‘off-season’ for many brands, we took it as an opportunity to reevaluate and improve our development strategy. We continue to push forward with new openings and signed agreements and are grateful to have found amazing partners in Randy and Jason - they will no doubt aid in our goal of making D1 Training a household name across the state.”

D1’s ability to innovate and adapt throughout the pandemic has allowed the brand to remain steadfast and focused on growth. By accelerating the launch of its D1toU online, virtual training app and remote program in partnership with TrainHeroic, franchisees felt supported in their ability to continue servicing their communities. As facilities began to safely reopen across the nation, its newly secured vendor partnerships with Sorinex Equipment, Plae and Zybek are providing D1 with a unique competitive advantage. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the brand is up 138 percent in systemwide revenue, year-over-year.

All locations offer five age-based programs including Rookie (ages 7-11), Developmental (ages 12-14), Prep (ages 15-18), Boot Camp (adults), and Strength Training (adults). Each fitness program is based on the five athletic-based tenets: dynamic warm-up, performance guide, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down. Outside of group workouts, D1 Training offers one-on-one training with world-class coaches. The goal is simple: to continue to train athletes who are dedicated to their sport or their fitness goals, regardless of age or athletic background.
