Orlando’s Filta Group, Inc. Adds Andrea Cook as National Director of Business Development

December 29, 2020 // Franchising.com // ORLANDO, Fla. - Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions (Filta), the world’s restaurant kitchen and hospitality leader in active fryer management and environmental sustainability, has added Andrea Cook to the position of national director of business development. With 20 years of sales experience, Cook will spearhead the Orlando-based franchisor’s efforts to research, target and secure national accounts in Filta’s industry-leading B2B group, which supports its nearly 150 franchisees nationwide.

“We have great confidence in Andrea’s deep experience with national and even global food service brands,” said Rob Totten, Filta’s chief development officer. “From interacting with restaurant, hotel, country club and universities to launching national products with global and national accounts, she has pretty much done it all. We’re looking forward to harnessing her deep industry knowledge and team spirit to benefit all our Filta franchisees.”

The national accounts and inside sales teams at Filta provide integral and cutting-edge industry support to help franchisees build robust networks of prospects and clients. Cook’s deep experience will augment that effort. She will also interact with the brand’s BAC (Brand Advisory Council), a team of franchisee and corporate leaders that help set the direction for the brand.

Over her two decades in the food service industry, Cook has worked extensively with well- known national brands and global powerhouses. From sales to innovation to marketing to operations, Cook has pretty much tasted it all, including a brief stint developing new business for Cox Communications when she first graduated from University of Central Florida. She is a member of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association.

Cook is a Florida native residing in the central part of the state.  She is not only committed to her career, but to her community. She advocates for various special needs programs and scholarships at the state Capitol and has a successful track record for increased Senate funding for the community’s children.  She is a committee member for Florida’s Children First, has been a foster parent and is an adopted parent. As a relentless child advocate, Cook has also volunteered for the Guardian ad Litem Program (GAL) where she advocates for abandoned and neglected children in the 18th judicial court system in Seminole County. She received national recognition from The MENTOR Network as a recipient of the “Ripple of Hope Award.”

Filta makes commercial kitchens safer, more efficient and more environmentally sustainable by micro-filtering existing cooking oil, providing bin-free waste oil collection, deep cleaning fryers, and recycling waste oil. Customers range from single and chain restaurants to commercial kitchens inside casinos, hospitals, hotels, groceries, universities, business facilities, stadiums (NFL, NCAA, MLB, NHL), and more. The brand has expanded its kitchen services into humidity control for cold storage and grease-free drain foams, making it a recognized environmental leader in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Furthermore, Filta also offers FiltaShield, a new sanitizing service and thermal temperature screening to help restore consumer confidence as businesses reopen across the U.S. Filta has recycled nearly 1 billion pounds of used cooking oil into biodiesel, significantly reducing the impact of fryer oil on the environment. For every gallon of biodiesel put into use, Filta prevents 16 pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.
