BrightStar Care Expands Footprint In Hernando and Citrus Counties

In-Home Care Franchise Opens New Location in Spring Hill To Provide High Quality Care To Those In Need

January 07, 2021 // Franchising.com // Spring Hill, FL - BrightStar Care, one of the nation's leading private duty home care and medical staffing franchises with more than 340 locations, announced the opening of its newest location in Spring Hill. The office will serve families throughout Hernando and Citrus counties, including areas such as Spring Hill, Hernando Beach, Homosassa, Inverness, Brooksville, Weeki Wachee, Crystal River and Citrus Springs.

BrightStar Care of Spring Hill and Citrus Springs provides a higher standard of home care services, from companion care, transitional care, senior care, childcare, 24-hour and live-in care and disability services. From their industry-leading employee screening and training to Registered Nurse (RN) oversight on every individualized plan of care, BrightStar Care is committed to supporting each and every one of their clients and families, so that they are able to maintain their independence in conjunction with also managing their unique age- and health-related challenges with ease.

The new location is owned by husband-and-wife duo, Kim and Jerry Coffey. Jerry has a 20-year background in IT and Kim is a Registered Nurse with more than 30 years in healthcare. During the last 15 years, Kim was involved in acute care and held leadership positions within that field such as Director of Nursing, Nursing Manager and Manager of Quality Improvement. Kim heard about BrightStar Care from a former Director of Nursing and shortly after, Kim and Jerry began looking into ways to get involved. They were attracted to the brand as they are Joint Commission Accredited, which is a nationally recognized healthcare quality standards organization that also accredits the nation’s best hospitals and other major health care systems. Once they realized all that BrightStar Care had to offer, they knew it would be the right path for them.

“In 2012, I suffered complications from surgery which led to a three-week hospital stay and then a six-month recovery period,” said BrightStar Care franchise owner, Kim Coffey. “Once I went home, I hired an in-home care agency to provide care for myself while I rehabilitated back to my normal self. I saw the benefits of in-home care immediately after recovering and knew I wanted to be part of something bigger that would bring high-quality services to those in need.”

“Since Kim received in-home care first hand, I’m confident they can lead a high-quality care team to provide for those in the Spring Hill surrounding communities,” said Shelly Sun, CEO and founder of BrightStar Care. “I applaud her resilience in turning a difficult situation into helping those in the same circumstances.”
