Fleet Feet Announces Opening of Second Location in Northern Alabama

Local owners expand running retailer to Madison

March 12, 2021 // Franchising.com // CARRBORO, N.C. - Fleet Feet announced today its expansion to Northern Alabama with the opening of its newest location in Madison. Dink and Suzanne Taylor, who own the Huntsville, Ala., store, will open the new location - a 6,200-square-foot retail space - in Hughes Plaza located at 181 Hughes Road. A soft opening is planned for March with virtual events leading up to a grand opening in April.

“The Taylors have been a part of the Fleet Feet family for nearly two decades, serving the Huntsville running community with passion and dedication,” says Joey Pointer, CEO of Fleet Feet. “We’re grateful to expand our presence in Northern Alabama with franchise owners like Dink and Suzanne, who live and breathe an active and healthy lifestyle. We’re thrilled to be opening in Madison and know that the personalized attention and unique in-store experience will be a fast-favorite for running groups and residents alike.”

Dink and Suzanne Taylor have been avid runners for nearly 70 years combined. For the past 17 years, the Taylors have built a community of running and health enthusiasts in Huntsville through training programs and fun runs, personalized footwear solutions and local charitable initiatives. Their Huntsville store has been nationally recognized as one of the ‘Best Running Stores in America’ every year since 2008.

“Suzanne and I have a great passion for running and helping others, which is ultimately what brought us to Fleet Feet,” says Dink Taylor. “Madison has been eagerly awaiting their own location, and we can’t wait to support the community with their healthy running and walking habits.”

Fleet Feet Madison will operate with the brand’s exclusive personalized outfitting experience, fit id®, which includes 3D foot scanning and dynamic pressure mapping. The pressure mapping software launched in November 2020 and allows outfitters to measure the unique foot path and weight distribution of each foot as an individual walks across a three-and-a-half-foot long force plate. These measurements give Fleet Feet the ability to offer individualized footwear solutions through Superfeet’s ME3D line of personalized insoles.
