Penn Station East Coast Subs Donates More Than $200,000 To Down Syndrome Organizations

April 07, 2021 // Franchising.com // MILFORD, OHIO - Penn Station East Coast Subs has contributed $146,000 on behalf of their valued customers to Down syndrome organizations across the Midwest in its second annual systemwide roundup campaign. From March 1 to March 21, customers were able to roundup their change or their dollars as a donation to their local Down syndrome organization. By contributing $2 or more, each customer received an offer for a free sub (BOGO) on their next returning visit. Additionally, Penn Station, Inc. donated $60,000 to the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network.

“In our second full year of our round-up campaign, we raised more than $145,000 for local Down syndrome organizations across the country and upped Penn Station, Inc.’s annual donation to the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network to $60,000 for 2021,” said Craig Dunaway, president of Penn Station East Coast Subs. “This is a cause close to many people in our franchise system and to many of our customers, and we are thrilled to support the fantastic work of so many local organizations, as well as fund the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network (NDSAN).”

The NDSAN provides a safe place for expectant parents to process their emotions related to their child’s diagnosis. Local Down syndrome organizations utilize contributions and funds to provide a wide variety of ongoing programs and support services to individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

Penn Station Founder and CEO Jeff Osterfeld has several close friends with children with Down syndrome and has been a supporter of these organizations for years, and several Penn Station franchisees and their families are impacted by relatives, friends and direct family members who have Down syndrome.
