Signarama® Hallandale Beach to Sponsor eSports Competition to Support Disabled Athletes

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL, April 14, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ - Signarama® Hallandale Beach has announced that it will be the sponsor of the 2021 eSports racing driver and disability advocate Fernando Mattos for the Fastlane Racing League (FRL). In addition to supporting Fernando's car, Signarama Hallandale Beach is also title-sponsoring three FRL events this season across two championships.

Fernando is the son of Signarama Hallandale Beach's owner, Nilton Mattos, and has been competing in eSports for over 15 years. This father and son duo has always shared a passion for cars. In 2021, as Nilton purchased the Signarama store at Hallandale Beach, the two have found the perfect avenue to support the disabled community.

"Fernando was born with cerebral palsy, and found in racing the inspiration to overcome his own challenges. Courage, determination and persistence are all qualities that championship-winning racing drivers share, and Fernando applied these attributes to his own life," said Nilton. "That's why I'm excited to support him in the Fastlane Racing League, which is one of the few disability-friendly racing leagues in eSports right now. For me, disability inclusion is a topic close to my heart, and I want to support community organizations that promote inclusion through our services here at Signarama Hallandale Beach."

On the FRL 3WTV Truck Series, the event at Lucas Oil Raceway on June 7 will be the Signarama Hallandale Beach 150. For the Grand National Series, Signarama opened the season on March 16 with the Signarama Hallandale Beach 175 at Daytona International Speedway, where Fernando brought his car home in fourth place. Later in the year, the Signarama Hallandale Beach 225 at Homestead Miami Speedway on September 28 will see a new champion crowned.

"We're so excited to have Signarama on board with us this season, which should be our most competitive one yet," said Kyle Zimmer, FRL's president. "We have a very strong field of drivers this year, including many who have a physical disability. While FRL is open to everyone, regardless of physical ability, I'm proud that the league is a safe environment for disabled racers to come together as a community and compete at the highest level."

In 2021, FRL will use the iRacing platform for its competitions. Founded in 2008, iRacing allows motorsports enthusiasts worldwide to race against each other from the comfort of their homes. In 2020, iRacing hosted a series of virtual NASCAR events when the season came to a temporary stop due to COVID-19.

Signarama is the world's leading sign and graphics franchise with over 700 locations worldwide.
