Waxxpot Opening Third Austin Location this Summer

June 30, 2021 // Franchising.com // COLUMBUS, Ohio - Waxxpot, a full-service waxing salon that provides hair-removal services from head to toe, has a third location in Austin under construction. The brand inked a deal with Austin residents Stephanie and Tom Sloss, who own the franchise. The couple plan to open later this summer at 4001 N. Lamar Blvd. in the Central Park Shopping Center.

Stephanie Sloss will be operating the salon and brings a lifetime of retail experience to the Waxxpot brand. Stephanie grew up working in her family’s successful chain of beach vacation gift shops, and her professional career in retail spans more than 20 years. Her husband Tom has spent 25 years in finance, working with popular franchise companies including Burger King and Schlotzsky’s.

“We’ve wanted to open up our own business for years and have been waiting for the right opportunity and we finally found it,” said Stephanie. “We chose Waxxpot because they are the best at what they do, and the hair removal waxing industry is a billion-dollar business.”

The duo chose the Central Market-anchored shopping center because it is an established neighborhood primed for growth, surrounded by major retail and medical offices. The new salon will boast five waxing rooms and feature services including Brazilian and bikini waxes, body waxing (brow and facial), lash lifts, last tints and an extensive menu of men’s services.

Daniel Sadd is the CEO of Waxxpot and is no stranger to the beauty industry. In 2003 he founded Salon Lofts, a salon suite rental concept targeting independent beauty entrepreneurs who reap the benefits of owning a salon without the risk of owning a business. Sadd discovered Waxxpot in Short North, Ohio and felt it was a natural extension of Salon Lofts. He purchased the original location and began growing the brand immediately in Ohio and beyond.

At each salon, a team of estheticians with specialized industry knowledge offer custom waxing services to ensure smooth results in a timely fashion. The brand also uses proprietary beeswax-based hard and soft waxes that make the hair removal process easier on guests. As the self-care movement continues to grow exponentially, Waxxpot is experiencing demand from male clientele who are embracing waxing as an alternative to shaving.

Waxxpot currently operates 11 salons throughout Ohio, Georgia, Colorado, and Texas. Austin locations include a downtown salon at 830 W. 3rd St., and another location at 4211 S. Lamar Blvd. All Waxxpot salons offer a 25% discount for first-time guests.
