Zabka Commits To Create Conditions For A Green And Sustainable Living For Everyone, Every Day

Zabka Group announces its new Responsibility Strategy and publishes a report summarizing its 2020 sustainability and responsibility performance

July 14, 2021 // Franchising.com // As a responsible company, Zabka is already thinking about a better tomorrow and is actively working towards green and sustainable living for everyone, every day. The COVID pandemic we all experienced last year turned out to be an unexpected test for people, structures, organizations and values, encouraging many companies to assume a new approach towards the environment. Zabka had already been setting new, ambitious development targets and implementing a comprehensive Responsibility Strategy. This has also been part of the new challenges. The Responsibility Strategy is based on four pillars: sustainable lifestyle, mindful business impact, responsible organization and green planet. Objectives of the new Responsibility Strategy, priorities and strategic commitments of the Zabka Group for the coming years, as well as a summary of Zabka’s responsibility-related activities undertaken in 2020 are all presented in the "Conveniently and Responsibly" report. Although the company is not obliged to disclose non-financial information submissions by any formal requirements, the said report was drawn up in compliance with the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Standards and has been subjected to an independent external review.

Despite the pandemic, Zabka did not slow down in 2020. It finished remodelling its old and opened 1,000 new stores. The expansion is accompanied by an improvement of the modern convenience format and development of a franchise-centric philosophy. Dynamic growth is possible thanks to the chain’s responsible approach and its unique ability to adapt to unexpected changes. Zabka has been developing, for a number of years now, focusing on three complementary areas of transformation, i.e. format and digital evolutions and integration of responsibility.

The Zabka Group strives to build an ecosystem of convenient solutions that fit in with the modern convenience format, thus facilitating the daily lives of millions of our customers. We perform this mission in a sustainable and responsible manner, taking care of the people and our planet. This is the long-term approach that is consistent with our Responsibility Strategy. The commitments we have assumed in this area are closely integrated with our business objectives and be the driving force behind our growth in the years to come
- says Tomasz Suchanski, CEO of the Zabka Group.

The success of the Zabka Group would never be possible without the team of employees focusing on the same values. Values that are shared by everyone. Values determining how Zabka intends to be perceived and setting the path it will be following on its way forwards. Our core values include the following: responsibility, openness, credibility and ambition. Responsibility is embedded into the company's DNA and defines its mission.

At Zabka, we prove that responsible shopping can be simple, quick and convenient. We believe that everyday shopping should be a part of a sustainable lifestyle and that great changes consist of small decisions made at the cash desk of our stores as well. Therefore, we are changing the product offering and are facilitating the improvement of everyday shopping habits for the benefit of customers and the Earth. We are reinforcing our customers’ awareness of the impact consumption exerts on the condition of our planet. We believe the future belongs to companies that grow in a sustainable manner and care not only for financial results, but also for their customers, employees, business partners and the environment
- says Anna Grabowska, EVP, Chief Commercial Officer, Zabka Group.
