Art Enrichment Franchise is Expanding within Texas

August 03, 2021 // Franchising.com // MONTREAL - Crayola® Imagine Arts Academy™ - a top art enrichment franchise – is opening the first Northwest Houston location with locations already existing in Dallas, San Antonio, and South Houston. The location will be owned by husband-and-wife duo Andrés Cuadrado and Natalia Cavanzo. This will be the duo’s first franchise location, with hopes to open more in the future. The Crayola® Imagine Arts Academy™ will be located at 1202 Briar Forest Drive.

The couple, originally from Colombia, initially moved to Texas in 2016 to pursue Andrés’ MBA at Rice University in the Jones Graduate School of Business. While Andres was doing his master’s, Natalia’s passion for children led her to volunteer in the Texas Children’s Hospital as a Patient Pal, making child patients feel happy and accompanied during their stay at the Hospital by playing with them, and doing fun activities, such as arts and crafts. After living in Florida for three years, the duo relocated back to Houston because of their love for the diversity and vibrant energy of the city. They will be opening their first location to cover the Northwest of Harris County and The Woodlands territory.

“When looking at potential franchises we could join, we knew we wanted to do something with kids. After talking to the President and Co-Founder, Shafik Mina, we fell in love with the company,” said Andrés. “We wanted to bring creativity to the children of Houston, and introduce the importance of art to our daughter.”

“There are many states where art is being cut; schools don’t have the resources to spend on the arts and they are losing out on something powerful,” said Mina. “Crayola® Imagine Arts Academy’s goal is to get children back into a routine of using their imaginations to learn empathy and understand imperative creative processes.”

Crayola® Imagine Arts Academy™ is unique because it is not just an arts and crafts program.

It teaches children the skills of creativity and imagination, as well as an awareness for the world around them. Children in the program will not only learn art techniques, but be exposed to topics including cultural awareness, animal conservation and design careers.

Founded in 2016 and franchising since September of 2019, Crayola® Imagine Arts Academy™ has been changing the way children view and understand art.
