September 28, 2021 // Franchising.com // Charlotte, NC. - School of Rock, a performance-based music education, announces the grand opening of a new school in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event will take place at 4724 Sharon Road Suite J, Charlotte NC 28210, from 6 pm to 8 pm EST, on Saturday, October 2nd. Along with a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting), the event will offer live music, raffle prizes, free swag for the first 50 attendees, cupcakes from a local bakery, and a balloon display.

School of Rock Charlotte is managed by Drea Atkins. Drea has been a part of the School of Rock family since 2014. She began her career at School of Rock as a branding photographer and marketing consultant, quickly rising to the position of general manager. Drea is looking forward to bringing her experience in children's art education and rock n’ roll to the Charlotte location.

“It gives me tremendous joy to see our school and program grow on a local level, while also having a national impact on the greater good,” said Drea Atkins. “We are thrilled to be kicking off the next chapter in Queen City.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons, and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz, and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

“School of Rock has already made an impact on students in the surrounding area,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “And now, Drea Atkins is bringing that same positive impact with remarkable opportunities for students in the Charlotte, North Carolina community to further their music education.”
