School Of Rock Wilmington Is Ready To Rock N’ Roll With A One-Year Anniversary Celebration

Celebration to include, guitar smashing, live performances, prizes, and more

January 21, 2022 // Franchising.com // Wilmington, NC. - School of Rock celebrates the one-year anniversary of a school in Wilmington, North Carolina. The event will take place at 820 Town Center Drive, Suite 130, Wilmington, NC., from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST, on Saturday, January 29. Along with a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting), the event will offer a live performance by the Wilmington House Band, prizes, and cupcakes.

School of Rock Wilmington is owned by Norman and Kara Giblin. Norman earned a music degree from Metropolitan State University. He has been an active musician since then, playing the keyboard in local Wilmington bands. When Norman and his wife moved to Wilmington in search of business opportunities, they discovered that there was no School of Rock, so they decided to open one in January 2021. School of Rock provided the perfect opportunity for Norman to share his passion for music with the community.

“We opened School of Rock Wilmington because we knew it would make a positive impact on the community,” Norman Giblin said. “We are thrilled to be celebrating our one-year anniversary; we know we are enriching lives by offering the area's only performance-based music education program.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons, and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz, and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

“There is a lot of heart and soul that goes into School of Rock,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “Norman Giblin is someone who embodies this spirit. His passion for music as a gigging musician informs and inspires his effort. I look forward to watching his students continue to thrive through music education and live performances.”
