BODYBAR Pilates Signs Agreement to Help Wichita Find its Balance

Reformer Pilates Concept to Open New Studio in Sedgwick County

February 03, 2022 // Franchising.com // WICHITA, Kan. - BODYBAR Pilates (BODYBAR), known for its use of integrative workouts that unite the Pilates method and modern exercise trainings principles, announced today that it has signed an agreement to raise the bar in Wichita with a new studio opening later this year.

The Reformer Pilates studio concept that has become a health and wellness hit in the Dallas – Fort Worth area is now elongating that enthusiasm into Wichita. Blending its focus on strength, toning and modern movement with a warm, welcoming, spa-like environment, BODYBAR creates a Pilates experience unlike any other. It is all centered on fostering a destination where a community of members can come together daily to maintain sound mind, body and spirit.

“Living a healthy lifestyle is who I am…it’s part of my identity. I found BODYBAR Pilates online and loved the concept – it offers an all-in-one workout that’s focused on cardio, strength and flexibility. After taking a class for myself, I quickly realized I wanted to become part of the BODYBAR family,” said Kalene Hoffman, new owner and operator of BODYBAR Pilates Wichita. “Years ago, I decided I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I liked the idea of doing my own thing and making a difference in the community. The fact that I will be opening the first BODYBAR studio in Wichita means a lot to me, and I’m excited to share this gem with my neighbors.”

Hoffman is a serial entrepreneur with a bachelor’s degree in math and a master’s degree in business. She has a background in the corporate world, having worked for Koch Industry in Wichita for five years. However, climbing the corporate ladder wasn’t the vision she had for herself, so she opened her own gym in Wichita 15 years ago. After owning the gym for 10 years, she sold it and opened a luxury hair salon, where she has worked for the last five years.

The new BODYBAR location will be the first in Kansas. Using core Pilates exercises and equipment, BODYBAR Pilates offers a wide range of 40 to 50-minute classes at varying intensities that are low-impact and perfect for increasing flexibility, muscle strength, posture and boosting overall health. Whether a member is a 70-year-old wellness guru, a 40-something working parent, or a 25-year-old who is just getting started, there’s a BODYBAR class to meet everyone’s personal fitness goals.

“At BODYBAR, we’ve worked to build a fitness concept that values community at its core and our franchisees play a pivotal role in fostering that community,” said Matt McCollum, CEO of BODYBAR Pilates. “Kalene has the experience, passion, mindset and drive to ignite the Transform Your Body, Transform Your Life movement in Wichita and we look forward to growing with her in Sedgwick county.”

From single-use equipment that is disinfected between each workout, to appropriate spacing of the reformers and ample time between classes, BODYBAR’s steadfast commitment to the safety of its members and employees remains top priority. BODYBAR instructors are encouraged to use creativity in their delivery to ensure members experience classes that vary in routine and intensity. And, with 14 reformers in each studio, instructors have ample time to interact with the class and provide members with a personalized experience, while providing franchisees the highest earning potential per class among all Pilates franchises. Building on learnings from the recent pandemic, BODYBAR points out that they have always created a safe environment for clients to practice Pilates. From single-use equipment that is disinfected between each workout, to appropriate spacing of the reformers and ample time between classes BODYBAR takes public safety very seriously.
