Co-Founder of Mayweather Boxing + Fitness to Open Newport Coast Location

February 23, 2022 // Franchising.com // NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, the group fitness experience that combines immersive training with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather’s champion techniques, is proud to announce the opening of its new studio in the Newport Coast community on March 5. Located at 21163 Newport Coast Dr., this new location will be opened by Vice-Chairman and Co-founder of Mayweather Boxing + Fitness, Burrel Lee Wilks III, who loved the concept so much that he wanted to own his own studio.

Wilks is not your typical entrepreneur. Having grown up on the tough streets of inner-city Chicago, he was able to break through the many obstacles in his way to become the successful entrepreneur and businessman he is today. Now, Wilks hopes to utilize his new business venture to continue his work being a positive influence for underprivileged youth, who might be experiencing the same hardships he once personally felt.

“Since partnering with Floyd, I’ve always felt a deep personal connection to the Mayweather Boxing + Fitness brand,” said Wilks. “Boxing is a universal sport that can bring long-lasting positive changes to one’s life. It’s a great feeling to bring this concept to the Newport Coast community and share it with those looking to get in shape, have fun and join a supportive community.”

Mayweather Boxing + Fitness utilizes methods developed throughout Floyd Mayweather’s 21-year undefeated boxing career. Floyd Mayweather developed and designed the innovative fitness experience with the perfect combination of boxing, strength and cardio conditioning intervals approachable to any fitness audience. Members can participate in 45 and 60-minute-long classes that use state-of-the-art smart screen technology to project Floyd’s image throughout the duration of the class, making members feel like they are learning from and training alongside the undefeated boxer himself.
