Local franchisee meets increasing demand for caregiving services, brings jobs to the community

March 07, 2022 // Franchising.com // Minneapolis, MN - FirstLight® Home Care, a provider of home care services, is pleased to announce that one of its newest offices is assisting seniors and other adults in the Minneapolis Metro area. This is the first location for FirstLight in the state of Minnesota.

Christine Schumann owns and operates FirstLight Home Care of Minneapolis West Metro, which provides companion care and personal care services to individuals who need support in the place they call home, including seniors, veterans, adults with disabilities, those recuperating and individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Professional, trained caregivers help with many needs, from companionship, transportation and household tasks to individual responsibilities like bathing and personal hygiene.

“Home care isn’t just about providing much-needed services,” said Schumann. “It’s about changing lives. And that is something I am committed to doing every day. My former job ended at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. With much time to reflect, coupled with the emotions of not being able to be near loved ones, I knew I wanted something meaningful for the next chapter in my life. I also thought about my own grandmother who, at age 93, is still able to live in her own home and would not want it any other way.”

FirstLight Home Care is also proud to create caregiver jobs in the local community.
