Metal Supermarkets Family of Companies Appoints Deborah Potter as Chief Growth Officer and Reorganizes Management Team

June 22, 2022 // Franchising.com // TORONTO, Ont. - Metal Supermarkets Family of Companies, which includes Metal Supermarkets and FlannelJax’s, has appointed Deborah Potter to the new role of Chief Growth Officer. With a strong background in multi-national industrial and consumer businesses as well as franchise networks, Potter will oversee and implement marketing, eCommerce, pricing, supply chain and procurement for both Metal Supermarkets and FlannelJax’s.

“When I was approached to consider joining Metal Supermarkets, I was immediately intrigued. Given my background, the role was a strong fit for my skillset and also offered the opportunity to aid in the growth of an already accomplished and established international brand,” said Potter. “I then met with the executive team and we immediately clicked. I knew this was an excellent opportunity for me to add value to the talented team and I look forward to identifying and implementing strategies that will help propel the brands forward.”

In addition to providing the leadership team with new and specialized skills, this new role will bring a shift in responsibilities among current executive team members, with long-time Metal Supermarkets executive, Andrew Arminen, now overseeing Operations in his role as Chief Operations & Development Officer. With these changes, the team is better positioned to identify and capitalize on unit and revenue growth opportunities, with Potter’s focus being to optimize marketing and eCommerce to improve customer acquisition.

“Metal Supermarkets Family of Companies has reached a point where Deborah could help take the business to the next level,” said Stephen Schober, President & CEO. “With more than a decade of experience as a senior leader, Deborah’s diverse background and outstanding proficiency will be a key asset to continue the success of both Metal Supermarkets and FlannelJax’s. Another critical benefit is to provide our longest tenured executive, Andrew Arminen, with more time to strengthen our operations and development endeavors”.

Prior to joining the Metal Supermarkets team, Potter held a variety of marketing and product management roles for companies like Hallmark Cards, Concrobium Mold Solutions (a Rust-Oleum brand) and Illinois Tool Works. Most recently, she served as the VP of Marketing for Concrobium Brands where she was responsible for the development of end-to-end product innovation pipeline, including cross functional collaboration from ideation, research, R&D, go-to-market strategy and commercialization.
