Intero Welcomes Alexandria C. Kavalaris as Corporate Counsel

CUPERTINO, Calif. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - June 21, 2022 - Intero, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate and wholly owned subsidiary of HomeServices of America, Inc., is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexandria (“Alex”) Kavalaris as Corporate Counsel.

In her new position, Alex will be overseeing Intero’s day-to-day legal activities. She will work closely with Intero’s dynamic leadership team to provide legal representation to the company and the more than 1500 real estate agents associated with Intero. Additionally, she will advise on legal perspectives and provide education with regard to the complex challenges that REALTORS® can face in today’s market.

“Joining Intero was an easy decision for me,” said Alex. “Having been a partner at a law firm that acted as outside counsel for Intero for many years, I’m looking forward to directly implementing plans, policies, and objectives for the company’s overall legal strategy.”

Before starting her journey at Intero, Alex was a civil litigator for more than 10 years. Her areas of focus included real estate, general business litigation and construction litigation. She has represented clients in various claims and cases, ranging from easement disputes to residential and commercial foreclosures. Her experience in all aspects of civil litigation, and her extensive background and in-depth knowledge about the real estate industry makes her the right fit for this role.

“I am excited to welcome Alex to the Intero family,” said Brian Crane, CEO of Intero. “Having an in-house Corporate Counsel allows our organization to be proactive in analyzing key legal issues and create an effective risk management process. The goal is to create an environment in which our REALTORS® can thrive and be successful.”

Alex was a frequent lecturer for the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors (SCCAOR) on changes in real estate law, legal requirements for brokers, and avoiding litigation. She also previously served on the Business and Litigation Executive Board for the Santa Clara County Bar Association.

A graduate of Santa Clara University (SCU) School of Law in 2010, Alex also holds bachelor degrees in political science and English from SCU. Alex was born and raised in the South Bay and now lives in Aptos where she spends her free time exploring the nearby beaches and mountains with her dogs.
