Blue Valley grand opening to include guitar-smashing ceremony, sidewalk concert, tours of the school and more.

July 19, 2022 // Franchising.com // Overland Park, KS. - School of Rock announces the grand opening of a school in Overland Park, Kansas. The event will take place at 11516 West 135th Street, Overland Park, KS 66221, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CT, on Saturday, July 23. The event festivities will include a guitar-smashing ceremony, sidewalk concert, and an open house for tours of the school.

School of Rock Blue Valley is owned by Jeremy Wilkinson. Jeremy's passion for music as a lifelong hobby led his sons to music as well. Jeremy and his youngest son pursued their passion for music together by joining School of Rock as students. Now, Jeremy has opened his own school in Blue Valley, where the team includes School of Rock alumni who intend to honor the legacy of the school that started it all, while bringing new excitement to their brand new location at Quivira and 135th Street.

“With an excellent team of musicians and instructors, we’re building something magical for Overland Park, Olathe, Leawood and South Kansas City,” said Jeremy. “We offer a free lesson and tour, so I invite prospective students to come meet our team and see what School of Rock’s performance-based, song-first approach is all about.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons, and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, Green Day, Alanis Morsette, Prince and The Foo Fighters. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

"The School of Rock Blue Valley team is passionate about their community and providing opportunities for students to further their music education,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “We are delighted to have this team lead this franchise and we look forward to the impact they will have on their students.”
