Cousins Subs® Awards $25,000 In Education Awards To Five Store-Level Employees

Recipients received $5,000 each through the brand’s Legacy Education Award contest.

September 28, 2022 // Franchising.com // MILWAUKEE - Cousins Subs® announced today five store-level employees as recipients of a $5,000 education award to help cover the costs of their post-secondary education at a four-year university in pursuit of their legacy of better.

“At Cousins Subs, we’re proud to employ dedicated store-level employees who share our long-standing belief in better through the continual improvement in everything we do,” said Christine Specht, CEO of Cousins Subs and President of the Make It Better Foundation. “Our five winners are truly incredible individuals who have big plans for the future, and we are honored to assist them in their journey.”

The five Cousins Subs store-level employees receiving $5,000 Legacy Education Awards are:

  • Annie Heck - A supervisor at the franchise-owned restaurant in Pulaski, Wis. Heck attends the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where she studies statistics and business.
  • Ashish Patel - A manager at the franchise-owned restaurant in Wheeling, Ill. Patel attends Northern Illinois University where he studies computer science and business analytics.
  • Kaitlyn Ehleiter - A lead night shift manager at the franchise-owned restaurant on 6th and Layton in Milwaukee. Ehleiter is currently enrolled in the Architectural Technology Program at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
  • Marcela Hahn - A shift manager at the corporate-owned restaurant in Sussex, Wis. Hahn attends Carroll University where she plans to pursue a nursing degree.
  • Nicole Gall - A manager at the corporate-owned restaurant in Sussex, Wis. Gall attends the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where she plans to study wildlife ecology and environmental science with the hope of one day working for the Department of Natural Resources.

The five education awards are funded by the Make It Better Foundation - the brand’s nonprofit organization that addresses the vital community needs of health and wellness, hunger and youth education. The Legacy Education Award Review Committee - a group comprised of former Cousins Subs franchisees and vendor representatives with longstanding relationships with the brand - reviewed each application, interviewed finalists and selected the award winners. To date, the organization has awarded more than $67,500 in education awards to 22 Cousins Subs crew members, including this year’s recipients.
