District Taco Makes QSR’s 40/40 List

Restaurant Publication Selects Leading Mexican Restaurant Franchise for 2023

March 02, 2023 // Franchising.com // Falls Church, Va. - District Taco is thrilled to be recognized by QSR Magazine. QSR’s 40/40 List identifies the top 40 fast-casual restaurants with fewer than 40 locations on the verge of something big.

District Taco is a tech-forward, fast-casual restaurant known for its authentic Mexican menu and best-in-class customer experience.

“Making QSR’s 40/40 List is an honor and puts District Taco “on the map” as a frontrunner in the authentic Mexican fast-casual industry,” said Tina Gantz, District Taco’s VP of Franchise Development

District Taco is differentiated by its Yucatán flavor profile, inspired by their co-founder’s family recipes. They proudly serve tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, quesadillas, and more. Never wanting to compromise quality, the brand ensures freshness by preparing their food daily. Chiles and tomatoes are roasted on the premises, grilled meats are marinated with a secret combination of citrus and spices that are indigenous to the Yucatán region, and chips and salsa are made in-house daily. Their innovative menu items are fully customizable, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

This brand was born of the ingenuity of Osiris Hoil and his neighbor, Marc Wallace and built on the American dream. Hoil moved to the United States from Mexico in the hopes of becoming an entrepreneur. When he lost his construction job due to the 2008 housing bubble, he combined his passion for Mexican cooking with his new American lifestyle.

“This year's 40/40 List is one our most entrepreneurial driven yet. It showcases the recovery, relevance, and potential of the fast-casual category's top brands," says Danny Klein, editorial director at QSR. "All these concepts have a chance to hit it big in the coming years, and we're ready to watch them do just that."
