Streamline Brands, based in Denver, Colorado, is the industry’s largest franchisor of swim schools with three brands in the family: SafeSplash Swim School, SwimLabs Swim School and Swimtastic Swim School, and has over 178 swim schools in 24 states and three countries. In 2016, Streamline Brands acquired SwimLabs, a brand renowned for providing competitive level swim instruction using video analysis coupled with the ability to compare any swimmer’s stroke to elite swimmers using video captured in the SwimLabs Champions Library, which includes Olympic gold medalists such as Missy Franklin, Jason Lezak, Kelsi Worrell Dahlia and Ryan Lochte. Franchise development rights are available for all brands throughout the world.

Franchise History

As a former competitive swimmer, founder Matt Lane knows that swimming is a life skill not just a sport. He is passionate not only about the physical benefits that swimming provides but also the emotional benefits including improved self esteem and confidence. When it came time to teach his own kids to swim, he found that his youngest daughter hated swim lessons. As Matt looked for other options, he found that there were few dedicated swim schools in the U.S. unlike many other countries with successful international swim programs. Although it was easy to find a dedicated school for gymnastics, dance or martial arts, he couldn’t find the same for swimming. He found this particularly striking when learning that eight out of 10 parents say it is important to teach kid how to swim but only two of 10 say it is important to learn how to dance. Based on his experience, Matt founded SafeSplash in 2005 as a premium, warm water learn-to-swim program throughout the U.S. that uses a proven, proprietary curriculum in a small, personal class to positively teach children and adults alike safety skills and confidence in the water that they will use throughout their lives. In 2006, the company established its first hosted location in Colorado. By 2007, SafeSplash opened its first dedicated location in Lone Tree, Colo. In 2008, SafeSplash formed its first national partnership with 24 Hour Fitness. In 2010, SafeSplash began franchising and by 2012 launched a unique Customer Service Center to provide back office support to its franchise owners, which includes back-office services, proven teaching curriculum, unmatched franchisee training and industry-leading franchisee support. In 2015, SafeSplash acquired Swimtastic Swim School, a regional franchisor of swim schools based in Milwaukee, Wisc. In 2017, the company acquired SwimLabs Swim School and officially became Streamline Brands. To date, Streamline schools have taught more than 7 million lessons.
