North Phoenix Entrepreneurs Provide Aging Population with Service 'Right' In Their Home: Right at Home Offers Affordable Senior Care Alternative

Phoenix, AZ – As the first baby boomers reach 60 this year, they are faced with a dilemma that no other generation has been faced with before: how to care for their aging parents while trying to balance the responsibilities of their own busy lives. With the number of seniors in America expected to double to 70 million in the near future, caring for an aging loved one is becoming even more difficult.

Local entrepreneurs Glen Davis and Damon Cecil recently opened a Right at Home senior in-home care franchise in North Phoenix to help alleviate this problem. Their office primarily serves the North Phoenix, Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Fountain Hills and surrounding areas although they extend their offering to include the Casa Grande, East Mesa, Anthem and Glendale areas as well. The concept offers in-home supportive care and assistance to seniors and other adults to help them continue to live independently, rather than being relocated to an assisted living center or nursing home. In cases where seniors are already living in such a facility, "in-home" care can be provided by Right at Home there as well.

For as little as a few hours per week to as much as 24-hours a day, Right at Home offers a variety of highly personalized and flexible home care services, provided by trained caregivers, at reasonable rates. Companion services offered include light housework, meal preparation, medication reminders, shopping and errands, laundry, local transportation, companionship and more. Personal care offerings include these plus tasks completed by Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) such as transferring, toileting, lifts and more.

"There is a tremendous need for Right at Home in the Northeast Valley because of the great number of seniors in this area," Davis said. "Many residents have lived in their homes since they were married 50 years ago and opening our in-home assistance service allows them to continue out their lives in their own homes instead of giving up their friends, family and possessions and moving to a live-in senior facility."

Long-time friends and business partners, Davis and Cecil seek to provide reliable in-home care service to north Phoenix and surrounding area residents. The duo have extensive backgrounds in the corporate world: Davis served as Vice President for a Fortune 500 company, they ran a private investigations firm together and also own of a financial services company that focuses on the financial needs of the aging population. They also both worked in law enforcement and have military experience.

But Davis and Cecil were also seeking to help members of their community while also assisting their own "sandwich generation". The partners discovered the benefits of caregiving through their own personal experiences, as Davis has Crohn's Disease and Cecil's dad has been diagnosed with MS. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit, Davis and Cecil's decision to open a Right at Home franchise is based on filling a large and growing need for quality in-home assisted care in their north Phoenix community.

"Right at Home offers the type of service I want to provide to my clients," Cecil said. "I want to make sure they are not only hiring a caregiver, but also a friend."
