WELLS FARGO AND THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS® RECOGNIZE CHICAGO'S SHELLY SUN WITH NATIONAL AWARD

CHICAGO – In celebration of the success and innovation of women business owners nationwide, Wells Fargo and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) recently presented Shelly Sun, president of Chicago-based BrightStar Healthcare, with one of three NAWBO/Wells Fargo Trailblazer Awards.

Sun was selected from a nationwide pool of applicants based on their companies' business performance, innovation, growth and personal service to the community. She received a $5,000 cash award.

"Talent and passion are at the core of all women business owners and this award recognizes and honors those attributes," said Joy Ott, regional president for Wells Fargo Bank in Montana and national spokesperson for its Women's Business Services Program. "It is a privilege for us to celebrate the women who personify the entrepreneurial spirit and applaud them for continuing to inspire the entrepreneur in all of us."

Wells Fargo launched the Women's Business Services program in September 1995 to build relationships with women business owners and increase access to capital and financial services. Since, Wells Fargo has lent more than $25 billion nationwide and extended more than 600,000 loans to women business owners nationwide over the last 10 years.

"It is an honor to receive this award, and an absolute privilege to be recognized as an entrepreneur working to strengthen the presence of women in economic, social and political spheres," Sun said.

BrightStar Healthcare provides affordable medical and non-medical homecare to private clients within their homes, as well as supplemental healthcare staff to corporate clients such as hospitals and nursing homes. After struggling to find adequate care for her own grandmother, Sun, a 13-year veteran of corporate America at the time, established BrightStar in 2002 to provide reliable and trustworthy caregivers to all in need. In August 2005, BrightStar launched its franchising efforts and continues offering low start-ups costs, extensive support, proprietary technology, and financial analysis.
