DUCTZ Announces ENERGY STAR Partnership

Voluntary Partnership Reflects Desire to Improve Clients' Energy Efficiency

May 14, 2009 // Franchising.com // Ann Arbor, MI – DUCTZ, the nation's largest air duct cleaning and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) restoration company announced today that it has teamed with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR as a partner to help its customers become more energy efficient.

DUCTZ Professionals are certified, qualified and trained professionals who use proprietary techniques to clean, recondition and restore HVAC systems. DUCTZ professionals are industry-leading advocates for applying stringent indoor air quality (IAQ) standards to HVAC systems. Through the ENERGY STAR partnership, DUCTZ will help its clients improve the energy efficiency and performance of their facilities through indoor air quality assessments, cleaning and maintenance programs for HVAC systems.

"Research suggests that air duct cleaning and HVAC restoration services optimize a system's efficiency, which cuts back on the amount of energy it uses," said DUCTZ Founder and President John Rotche. "Through this new partnership with ENERGY STAR, we look forward to continuing to help our clients lower their energy use and meet their indoor air quality restoration needs."

In partnership with ENERGY STAR, DUCTZ will help clients to:

  • Measure and track the energy performance of their facilities at all locations
  • Set a goal to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings by 10% or more, in support of the ENERGY STAR Challenge

DUCTZ will also:

  • Encourage its staff and community to learn about the benefits of energy efficiency and to implement appropriate energy efficiency measures
  • Encourage other companies with whom it works to join ENERGY STAR and take the ENERGY STAR Challenge

"We are honored to team up with ENERGY STAR to work together to improve the energy efficiency of HVAC systems for homes and businesses across the U.S." Rotche said.

DUCTZ has more certified Air System Cleaning Specialists (ASCS) than any other national organization. DUCTZ requires that each of its owners become a certified ASCS to help ensure that all cleaning is performed in accordance with NADCA Standards and Guidelines. Additionally, DUCTZ has instituted other in-house training programs to expand personnel capabilities and expertise beyond the certifications offered by NADCA.

About DUCTZ

DUCTZ, the nation's largest air duct cleaning and HVAC restoration franchise, was originally founded by John Rotche in 2002, as a "one van" operation in Ann Arbor, MI. In 2006, DUCTZ merged with its top competitor, a strategic merger that created the largest and most technically advanced organization within the industry. DUCTZ is a member of the National Air Duct Cleaner's Association (NADCA) and Energy Star approved. DUCTZ was featured on cable television's show Designing Spaces, and in Entrepreneur magazine's January 2009 issue, was ranked #1 in its category and in the upper half of the Top 500 Franchises in the United States.
