Red Mango® to Unveil New Red Mango Café with Smoothie Factory® Juice Bar in Illinois

First-time Franchisees Jim & Anneke Taglia to Introduce Expanded Concept in Oak Park

March 19, 2014 // Franchising.com // DALLAS – Lifelong Oak Park-Illinois residents Jim Taglia and his wife Anneke never considered getting into franchising until their children discovered a delicious brand they regularly sought out when craving a healthy and tasty treat. Impressed with the product, Taglia decided to invest in his hometown by joining Red Mango, one of the fastest-growing frozen yogurt and smoothie chains in America.

Taglia will open one of the first restaurant prototypes for a co-branded Red Mango Café with Smoothie Factory® Juice Bar in the country. His location is slated to open June 2014 at 1044 Lake Street in Oak Park. The expanded concept will serve healthy café meals under 500 calories, Smoothie Factory smoothies, and fresh cold-squeezed juices in addition to the frozen yogurts and parfaits that have made Red Mango famous.

"I am very excited to bring the Red Mango Café concept to the Oak Park community," said Taglia. "We have been interested in this brand for several years and have yet to find another brand with the same products and services Red Mango offers to customers looking for healthy alternatives. It’s fun to become part of the brand during this growth period, and I look forward to helping deliver the healthy lifestyle reputation alongside the expanding menu of Red Mango products."

"The outstanding products drove us to investigate the Red Mango franchise opportunity," said Taglia. "Our community is the perfect spot to bring a vibrant place for local groups to hang out and enjoy nutritious ‘grab and go’ food choices that the new Red Mango Café with Smoothie Factory Juice Bar will offer."

Red Mango Café will serve an extensive menu including freshly squeezed juices and new café items such as sandwiches and wraps with less than 500 calories as well as a selection of more than 40 all natural frozen yogurts, fruit and yogurt parfaits, probiotic iced teas and natural smoothies.

Smoothie Factory products will include blended smoothies with a selection of optional nutrition boosts.
