Guests at Moe’s Southwest Grill® Can Now Smother Their Burritos With Sauces Inspired by Flavors of the Southwest

Moe’s Introduces Even More Freakin’ Great Quality Offerings, Including Three All New Sauces to Smother Burritos, Carnitas to Stuff Them, and More 

September 23, 2016 // // ATLANTA - Moe’s Southwest Grill®, recently named Fast Casual Mexican Restaurant of the Year by Harris Poll, today unveiled Smothered Burritos, the newest addition to Moe’s fresh, high-quality offerings. Available for a limited time, guests can order their favorite burrito smothered with one of Moe’s three new signature sauces – Hatch Green Chile, Red Chile or Mole - topped with queso fresco and fresh chopped cilantro, and accompanied by a side of handcrafted guacamole, all natural sour cream, and pico de gallo.

In addition to this new platter with flavors that pay homage to the spirit and flavors of the Southwest, Moe’s has also added grilled pork carnitas to the menu, an addition that also draws on the restaurant’s southwestern roots. This tender and smoky meat option can now be added to any signature Moe’s dish, increasing the 17 quintillion food combinations that guests can enjoy at Moe’s.

A bit more about the sauces:

  • Hatch Green Chile: Prepped fresh in-restaurant, from Hatch Green Chiles, tomatillos, garlic, cilantro and lime juice, this vibrant green sauce gets its rich and deep flavors from fire roasting the Hatch chiles before they are blended into the sauce. The heat from this sauce pairs perfectly with Moe’s Famous Queso.
  • Red Chile:  The red chile sauce has a medium heat level and a bright ruby red color that comes from the red chiles, ancho chiles, and tomato paste. 
  • Mole: The red mole is a traditional southwestern style sauce with notes of chiles, garlic, citrus, honey, and a hint of cocoa to balance out the heat and add earthy layers of depth.
