OXXO To Sponsor South Florida Communities in Bloom Year - Long Effort

OXXO will support #communitiesinbloom through charitable giving, volunteerism and partnerships with our local franchise stores.

October 10, 2017 // Franchising.com // Hollywood, FL - OXXO Care Cleaners®, the environmentally friendly garment cleaning franchise that was first to use GreenEarth® solvents while offering 24/7 ATM-style service, announced today that it will be the official sponsor and partner of South Florida’s Communities In Bloom non-profit association dedicated to charitable giving and volunteerism, particularly for underprivileged children and women in South Florida communities.

“OXXO was founded on the “we care” principle. Through the years, we have collaborated on many community activities, and just last week- we announced our support for Breast Cancer awareness with the Susan G. Komen foundation. Now, we are proud to support a year-long effort organized by Sophia Arana and Evely Forte of South Florida’s Communities in Bloom to help the needy in South Florida. We also want to incentivize our customers to raise money for Communities in Bloom rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Irma at your local @OXXO thru 12/28,” said Salomon Mishaan, CEO & Founder of the OXXO Care Cleaners franchise.

“Since its foundation in 2015, Communities in Bloom has created gardens at homeless shelters, homes for children transitioning out of foster care, and women's shelters. We have also distributed plants at local hospitals. We are honored that OXXO will support our year-long efforts, especially because there is so much work to be done after Hurricane Irma, but also because there are always people in need in our community. In that regard our values are so similar,” said Sophia Arana, Co-founder of Communities in Bloom and Our Lady of Lourdes High school senior.

Communities in Bloom is a non-profit,501(c)(3) organization dedicated to restoring the landscaping of local non profits that assist children in need. Their mission is to create beautiful green spaces, while simultaneously promoting a love for plants and the environment in the local community.

The confirmed schedule of activities through December 2017 is as follows:

On Wednesday, October 11th, OXXO Care Cleaners will sponsor a party for children at Nicklaus Hospital, where CIB volunteers will set up a table for painting pots with the children and teach about plant care. Each child will take home a potted plant and be able to partake in painting.

On Saturday, November 4th, OXXO Care Cleaners will sponsor a volunteer planting effort at St. John Bosco’s where restoration after Hurricane Irma will take place.

On Saturday, December 16th, OXXO Care Cleaners will sponsor a Christmas Party for children at St. John Bosco’s.
